Kinsella Group Helps Client Close Award-Winning Financing Deal

As a direct result of teamwork, creativity and tenacity, Kinsella Group and Greenfield Commercial Credit received the 2005 Collaboration Award, sponsored by the Midwest Business Brokers & Intermediaries Association (MBBI), for its successful efforts to assist one of our clients in a challenging, difficult financing transaction.

Our client, an umbrella enterprise consisting of two separate companies operating under one roof, was experiencing significant roadblocks in its effort to source capital to help it turn around the less successful of its two businesses. While one company was highly profitable and enjoyed existing bank financing, the second company was a high-inventory, slow-turnover business that, in effect, served as a loss-leader for its more successful sibling.

The second company's asset-based lender was initiating the process of liquidating the existing loan, which would have resulted in the collapse of the profitable company as well. Our client was experiencing difficulty obtaining a capital source with which to begin the turnaround process before the lender's liquidation efforts gained momentum.

Kinsella Group's contacted Greenfield Commercial Credit in late 2004. After six months of extensive negotiations and overcoming many setbacks, lending terms were agreed upon, the second company received a much-needed cash infusion, and it is now well on the path toward renewed profitability.

MBBI's Collaboration Award is an annual award that honors lenders and business brokers for creative, cooperative and outstanding efforts to assist businesses with unique or challenging financing initiatives.
